Our Story & Founder
Aravia explored the impact of architecture on public realm through spatial design and masterplanning. Since the setup in late 2015, Aravia has designed and executed over 30 projects of various scales. In 2017, Aravia secured a transit-oriented development of over 2-million sq.m in China in a competition against AREP and Valode & Pistre Architectes. In 2018, Aravia was invited to join a competition in Luxembourg along with BIG, Snohetta and others.
Kan Chan （陳正芹） is the Founder and Design Director of Aravia Design. Kan is a chartered member of RIBA, and HKIA associate member. Kan has received his education from the University of Hong Kong (First Class honour), University College London and Chinese University of Hong Kong (Best Studio award). His master thesis was nominated for RIBA president awards. Kan Chan has exhibited in several consecutive years in Venice Biennale.
Prior to the setup of Aravia, Kan Chan worked in Aedas and Oval Partnership. After gaining experience in Europe and China, he was appointed Project and Design Director by a private equity to develop projects in East Africa region. During the appointment, Kan was responsible for all design and construction works, and partnered with global operation and management consultants including EY, T&T, Marriott, Starwood Hotel Group and Wyndham Hotel Group. Kan was also the consultant for business development and marketing strategy. Over years, Kan has been involved in over 20 mixed use development projects worldwide.
Since the setup of Aravia in 2015, Kan Chan has led the team to design and execute over 30 projects, including transit-orientated developments, masterplanning and interior architecture. In 2019, along with Herzog & de Meuron, Grimshaw Archtiects, Studio Gang etc., Aravia was shortlisted in World Architecture Festival (WAF) and won WAFX award.
Kan Chan was awarded the Youth Leader in Greater Bay Area by JCI and Associate Fellowship for Social Enterprise Research Academy Kan was invited as the founding member and executive committee for GBA Economic and Trade Association. He has taught in CUHK, CityU in HK and Makerere University in Uganda. Kan is a consultant for transit-oriented development and commercial development for CRCC.

我們深信，優質的空間設計是現代城市生活中最重要一環。自2015年成立以來，睿凡設計的作品遍佈多個城市。我們透過大至城市規劃，小至室內設計的各個項目獲得多項國際殊榮，包括在2017年力壓 AREP 和 Valode & Pistre Architectes，贏得中國一個佔地超過二百萬平方米的公共交通導向型發展（TOD）計劃，並在翌年（2018）獲邀與 B.I.G 和 Snohetta 等國際知名建築師行競逐盧森堡的發展項目。
2019年，我們入圍了有建築界奧斯卡之稱的世界建築節（WAF），最終力壓Herzog & de Meuron、Grimshaw Architects、Studio Gang等建築巨頭，贏得 WAFX 設計大獎。
睿凡的設計團隊由創辦人 陳正芹（Kan） 帶領。Kan 是英國皇家建築師學會特許會員及香港建築師協會副會員，曾於香港大學，倫敦大學學院，及香港中文大學修讀建築，並以一級榮譽及最佳設計獎畢業。他的碩士論文更獲提名 RIBA英國皇家建築師學會會長獎，作品亦連續多年於威尼斯雙年展展出。
陳正芹早年於Aedas 及 Oval Partnership 工作，參與超過20個歐洲及中國大陸的建築及城市規劃項目。他及後獲邀出任設計總監，全權負責並監督東非大型興建項目的設計及工程，同時兼任多個項目的策略顧問，為 EY、T&T、Marriott、Starwood Hotel Group、及Wyndham Hotel Group等國際知名企業出謀獻策。
過去數年，陳正芹擔任睿凡的設計總監，帶領團隊主理超過30個建築項目。Kan致力以建築師身份回饋社會，過去數年曾於香港中文大學和城市大學的建築系任教，並獲頒青年領袖獎和社會企業研究院院士。他目前亦是粵廣澳大灣區經貿協會的執行委員和中國鐵建的專家顧問。
